CITIZEN JOURNALISM-One Step Forward
Recently a seminar was organized by the faculty of Mass Communication.In which the Anchor and the Producer of the show "Meri Nazar" Mr.Owais Mangalwala gave awareness to the mass com. students about his new show base on Citizen Journalism through DAWN television channel.There main purpose of this show is to"DAWN NEWS wants to see the world through your lens".He further said the citizen journalist is the formalized form of eye witness.

2-Sharing Of Opinion
3-Sharing Of Discovery
4-Sharing Of Expertise
He said every person has the right to share his/her idea and the world should be aware oh his point of view.It could be revolutionary as well.So a citizen journalist should highlight the issues which are neglected by media or correction.They are providing the criteria for citizen journalist by patching up an experienced reporter with him for better mistake free work.
Key points for citizen journalist are:
1-Material should be on factual events.No addition of your own opinion.
2-Events are all around us so you don't have to wait for something big to be happen.
3-Make your own point of view.
4-Don't think your topic would be boring or uninteresting.
5-Be descriptive,don't exaggerate.
6-You have to be deadly accurate.
7-Usage of correct words without any grammatical mistakes.
8-Code of conduct should be correct.
9-Avoid bringing copy paste material.
10-read the format of Associated Press.
11-Share your material with good reporters.
12-Finally get feedback of others.
13-Keep your eyes open.Everyone can report and everything can be reported.
And he further said if you follow these steps,you will be a good reporter.And by this the seminar went to end.
